Ongoing Formation Batches 1987-2002

A two-day webinar was organized by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes, Province
of Bangalore, for the Ongoing Formation Batches from 1987-2002. The webinar
was spearheaded and systematically, methodically and efficiently organized by the
Chief Coordinator of the Organizing Committee – Sr. Elizabeth Chowrappa, SJT,
and her team Sr. Lucy Pinto, Sr. Jaya and Sr. Georgina. Within a very short span of
time, Sister organized the webinar which ignited a spark of enthusiasm among the
participants by bringing them together on a common platform for psychological
and spiritual enrichment.
Over 60 Sisters, including 15 Silver Jubilarians from Bangalore and Jeevan Maitri
Mysore Province; from different parts of the country as well as from Uganda and
Wolverhampton and Forestgate, UK, logged in and participated while over 100
others viewed and listened to the enlightening sessions.
The speaker for the first session on Day 1, Fr. Joseph T, a devout, pious and ardent
Retreat Preacher, presented a soul-searching talk on “Graceful Journeying with the
Lord” which touched the divinity within us.
The second resource person for the day, Sr. Elizabeth Chowrappa, SJT, made a
vibrant, research-based and highly intellectually stimulating presentation on
“Mental Health Treasured During Covid Times”, touching upon fostering one’s
own mental wellbeing and psychological health through various healthy routines
and practices. The highlight of her presentationwas finding peace at the foot of
the Cross.
The speaker for Day 2, Dr. Mohan Sunil Kumar, Psychiatrist, in his talk on “Road
Map for Holistic Wellbeing” highlighted 8 ways to weave different dimensions of
wellbeing into a daily routine – physical, emotional, social, occupational, financial,
intellectual, environmental and spiritual.
The final takeaway from the webinar was the profound Presidential address by the
Provincial, Sr. Benedicta Mary Joseph, which emphasized the need to proactively
put one’s house in order by living a God–centered life that can weather any storms
of life.
While Sisters Sr. Benedicta Mary Joseph, Lucy, Elsamma, Louisa, Jaya, Amudha,
Sylvia Christie, Francina, Natalia, graciously cooperated in carrying out the
assigned responsibilities.
The webinar was welcomed and well-received by the Sisters of different batches,
who were filled with excitement and joy to get connected with one another.
Gratitudinal responses received from the Sisters who participated in the webinar
was overwhelming.
