Here we are, the sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes on the hallowed ground in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka, India for the past 133 years. We have the quick mode of getting connected, working in collaboration, communicating and living in Communion.

History reveals that six young girls with their focus to live for God and for others, chose to live as a community, their motto-‘MAY WE ALL BE ONE’.

Like the mustard seed that grows into a tree, the congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes spread in fourteen countries in the world and into nine states in India.

The vision and prayer of Jesus Christ’ May they all be one’and the dream and quest of our foundresses ‘May we all be one’ has been gradually realised. The Charism of Communion is embedded in the Mission of Christ. From this Mission and the Charism we have our apostolic works expressed in various integrated activities as education, both formal and non formal, social action to liberate the poor,the oppressed, the marginalised and neglected.

Health Care Ministry and the Pastoral care has been our priorty, responding to the signs of times, we serve the’ New Poor’ through our personal witness and examples, we make Christ’s presence in the world. Ministry flows from the Mission and the Charism. SJT are known for Communion. Come let us join to build Communion and harmony in our families, society and the world.
