Bistupur

The God of surprises. Our God is indeed the God of surprises and author of new beginning. Just after two years of our arrival at Chaira in Jamshedpur diocese we received the invitation to collaborate with the diocesan school. This call was from the Bishop of Jamshedpur.

Rev. Felix Toppo.SJ was indeed providence from God as it to answer the needs and search of our province to have a community in the center since Chaira community is quite far.

Hence accepting this surprise plan of god and responding to the invitation joyfully.

Srs. Jacinta Panna and Nirmala Mary were sent by the province to venture into this new mission here at Bistupur.

On 8th June 2002 our sisters were welcomed by the parish priest of St. Mary’s church Fr. Edwin and community. Since the house was not ready they stayed in the church campus for two month. Our sisters began their mission of imparting Knowledge to the children at St. Mary’s English High School affiliated to CBSE starting from LKG to std. 12. It’s a well established school with Junior sections. Sr. Jacinta was given the responsibility as Vice Principal and along with Sr. Nirmala to teach in the Junior section. At initial stage they faced the difficulty of helplessness.

Since the others were well experienced, competent and trained but they were very simple respectful and co-operative. The Principal Fr. Elvius Dung dung had been extremely kind and gave lot of support and constant encouragement. Our sisters experienced the providence of God.

To make their presence visible one more member Regina now a Candidate joined the community and continued her studies at women’s college. In the month of January 2003 Sr. Annies animated the community and helped our sisters. The diocese took great care to the things needed for sisters specially in providing a separate residence within the Junior section with security arrangement.
