Goa – Sirlim

Maria Dhan “the formation house is situated in a small village called Sirlim, In Goa surrounded by beautiful nature. This house was gifted to us by Mrs.Teresa Periera who lives in Margao . It was her mothers’ desire that after her death the house should go to a convent.

In a very providential way Teresa met Sr. Emma and expressed her desire to gift the house to us. Sr. Emma filled with Joy and gratitude informed Sr. Georgina the then Provincial about the desire and the decision of Teresa and she accepted it. Sr. Georgina along with Sr. Emma visited the place and met the donors and expressed their gratitude and joy of having the house.

They approached Bishop Filip Neri Ferrao to seek his permission to start the community. On one condition the permission was granted that it will be a house used for prayer or religious formation and also sisters will assist in the pastoral work. Sisters agreed to his suggestion.The postulancy was shifted to Goa.

On 9th June 2006 the community of Maria Dhan was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Bishop Filip Neri Ferrao in the presence of our sisters, postulants, donors and some of the neighbors. Thanks to the providential love of God the father.
